DEFEND AND PROTECT IDAHO ANNOUNCES ENGAGEMENT IN 2024 ELECTION CYCLE

April 16, 2024 (Boise, IDAHO) - As the 2024 election cycle kicks off, the Defend and Protect Idaho PAC, established in 2022, announced its proactive engagement in supporting candidates and issues on the ballot to positively shape Idaho's political landscape. Led by retired Ada County Sheriff Gary Raney, the Defend & Protect Idaho PAC is poised to champion candidates who oppose political violence and extreme, promote civility and prioritize the values of democracy.

With a mission to counter the influence of extremist ideologies, the Defend and Protect Idaho PAC brings together a coalition farmers and ranchers, faith leaders, military and retired law enforcement. Their collective experience and commitment to public safety underscore the importance of promoting candidates who uphold Idaho values, prioritize the rule of law and reject political violence.

In anticipation of the 2024 elections, Sheriff Gary Raney shared his perspective on the PAC's objectives: "As a former member of law enforcement, I've witnessed firsthand the detrimental effects of extremism on our communities. Whether it manifests through violence, hate speech, or divisiveness, extremism has no place in our society. It undermines the very fabric of democracy and erodes the trust essential for a thriving community.”
