Dear Neighbor,
My name is Chris Smith and I’m the retired Sheriff from Canyon County. During my 39 years of service in law enforcement, I was honored to work alongside dedicated men and women to protect our communities.
I’m writing to let you know about two candidates running for the Legislature in our district: Scott Syme and John Shirts. I’ll be supporting Syme and Shirts because we need elected officials who faithfully back the blue, support our veterans, and live our conservative Idaho values.
I know that Idahoans value the rule of law and respect the men and women who serve our communities every day. Shirts and Syme have both earned endorsements from the Fraternal Order of Police because they are committed to protecting our families by adequately funding state and local police.
In addition, these upstanding men have both given their time in military service and understand what it means to respect the oath of office. John Shirts served as a JAG in the United States Air Force and Scott Syme served 32 years in the US Army and Army Reserve retiring at the rank of Colonel.
Supporting Scott Syme for Senator and John Shirts for Representative on May 21 means:
A strong voice for Idaho’s veterans who have served our country honorably
Unwavering support for police officers and first responders
Protecting Idaho from the growing problem of fentanyl
If you believe we need representation that backs the blue, supports veterans and will protect Idaho families, join me in supporting Scott Syme and John Shirts on May 21.
Chris Smith
Canyon County Sheriff, retired
